Privacy statement

What I record, why, for how long, and what you can do about it.

You leave details with me the moment you get in touch. That comes with the work, but it also means I have to handle them carefully. Below is exactly what happens, in plain language.

Who processes your data

Monique de Aankoopmakelaar, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 42058705. I decide what happens to your data and I am the one to address about it.

You can reach me at info@moniquedeaankoopmakelaar.nl or +31 6 53 44 46 55.

What I record, and why

If you fill in the contact form

I record what you enter yourself: your name, your email address, your phone number if you give one, what you are looking for, your housing wishes and how you prefer to be contacted.

I use that to answer your question and to see whether I can help you. The basis for this is that you approach me yourself with a possible assignment in mind.

If you become a client

Then the details needed to guide you through a purchase are added: correspondence, appointments and the documents that belong to the file. Without those I cannot do my work.

If I put a purchased home on the website

Under Recent aangekocht you will find homes I bought for clients, with the street name and a photo of the front. I only publish those if the buyer gave permission in advance. No permission means the home does not appear; that is built into the system itself and cannot go wrong by accident. Withdraw your permission later and I take it down.

If you visit the website

The server records which page was requested, when, and with which IP address and browser. That is needed to run the site and to prevent abuse.

The fonts are hosted on the website itself and are not fetched from any other party. So nothing leaves the site while you are reading it.

If you agree to statistics

Then I use Google Analytics to see which pages are visited and how people find the site. Cookies are placed for that. This only happens after you choose it, and you can withdraw that choice at any time. If you do not, or if you decline, no statistics cookies are placed and nothing is measured.

Who else sees your data

I work with parties that handle part of the job. Agreements are in place with each of them about how they treat your data.

  • Netlify hosts the website and receives the messages from the contact form.
  • Supabase stores the details of the purchased homes shown on the site.
  • Google provides the statistics, if you choose so.
  • Strato provides the domain and the email.

Some of these parties are based outside the European Union or have a parent company there. The standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission apply to those transfers.

Beyond that I do not share your data, unless it is part of the assignment you give me, for example with a notary or a building surveyor, or when the law requires it. I do not sell your data and I do not use it for advertising.

How long I keep it

  • A question through the form that does not lead to an assignment: two years after the last contact.
  • A client file: seven years after completion, because Dutch tax law requires that for the administration.
  • Statistics: fourteen months.
  • A home on the site: until it is taken down or permission is withdrawn.

What you can do

You may ask which data I hold about you. You may have it corrected if it is wrong, have it deleted, or have its use restricted. You may object to its use, receive your data in a file, and withdraw permission you have given.

An email to info@moniquedeaankoopmakelaar.nl is enough. I respond within one month. To avoid handing data to the wrong person, I may ask you to identify yourself.

If you feel I do not handle your data properly, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl. I would appreciate it if you tried me first, but that right stands on its own.

Cookies

This site places no tracking cookies of its own. If you opt in to statistics, Google Analytics places cookies to tell visits apart. Your choice is remembered in your own browser and nowhere else.

If this statement changes

The date at the top changes with it. Significant changes are reported to clients I am working with at that moment.
